Schenker Ltd is a BIFA Awards 2011 Winner

DB Schenker is a winner in the Staff Development Award Category of the BIFA Freight Service Awards 2011.

Schenker Limited has won the 2011 BIFA freight service award for Staff Development. In front of an audience of leading players from across the multi-modal industry the submission from DB Schenker, which championed its methods of encouraging careers for young people into the logistics industry through its apprentices and talent programmes, was chosen as the winner.

The company's stated aim is to have the best trained staff in the industry and for the last three years its HR department has been designing and implementing a series of programmes for individuals at all stages of their careers within the company.  This has been supplemented by linking into the global DB Schenker corporate training network which has enabled staff to be trained in both the UK and overseas.

Receiving the cut-glass trophy from TV Personality, Christine Hamilton, Acting Managing Director, Per Holst-Nielsen said:  "This trophy means a great deal to the UK team who have put so much effort into not only our apprentices programme but our company-wide training which develops motivated individuals whatever their position in our company. To be recognised by BIFA for the work we have done is a tremendous accolade".
